I inspected the inside, and clearly something isn't right. Sure enough, I opened up the bottom of the Elna this morning, and there were gobs of dark orange/black wax on the base of the machine. At first I doubted myself because it was so faint. Last night I was doing lots of sewing, and swore I heard sizzling.
